Hey! It’s Nathan Tripolone here and welcome to the course!
You’re going to learn how to create a fantastic new website for your Trade business!
Let’s dive into some background to websites and build a foundation for what you’re going to create.
It’s important to understand that there are 2 critical elements to any website’s success.
Firstly, the Design of the website. What kind of journey do we want our potential clients to follow within our website to eventually lead them to contacting us? What information do we want them to know about us? Where do we want them to click? What do we want them to do?
Second, it’s about Marketing your website and your business online. Who’s visiting your website? How do you get more potential clients within your target audience to visit your website? How do you deliver more messages to these potential clients to encourage them to buy from you?
Let’s begin with the Design… think of each page on your website like a ladder. Each ladder leads to another ladder and the final ladder leads the gold.
Well, on your website, the first ladder is your Home Page. The Home Page leads to your About Page, which leads to your Services/Projects Page and finally the last page which is your Contact page. It’s important to understand that the goal of each page, is to get your potential client to climb the ladder to the next one.
Entice them, encourage them and incentivise them to continue up the ladders by creating website copy that talks directly to their needs and wants. (In case you’re unsure, website copy means the text found on a website.) Demonstrate you can help them by showing examples of your work, build trust and confidence with testimonials and reviews and tell them why you’re different.
To help you through this process, I’ve created a simple template to download and fill out on your computer. You can then easily just copy & paste the website text into your new website, as shown in the video in Module 2.
To access the content template, click here.
Fill out the template, and then proceed to Module 2.
Hot Tip #1 - NEVER allow an external agency or web design business to register your domain name or URL on your behalf. I recommend using GoDaddy.com to register your URL yourself. I’ve seen too many horror stories of small businesses held to ransom by agencies who have full control over their URL. Once you have registered your domain at GoDaddy, it’s very simple to connect it with your SquareSpace website.
Hot Tip #2 - Register a local domain name, local to your country. e.g. if you’re based in Australia, register a .com.au domain. It will help you get found by your potential clients.
Hot Tip #3 - If throughout the course, you have any questions or feedback please send an email to nathan@realtimeresults.com.au and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
Cheers,
Nathan Tripolone.
